Air fryer oven conversion calculator

Convert a conventional oven recipe into a cautious air fryer starting temperature and early first-check time, with clear limitations and food-safety guidance.

Example starting point

375°F; first check at 23 minutes

The check time is not a guaranteed finish time. Continue in short intervals until the food is done, and use a thermometer for meat and poultry.

How the estimate works

The calculator subtracts 25°F, a conventional-to-convection starting adjustment published by GE Appliances and used in Breville oven guidance. It sets the first inspection at 75% of the original time so you can evaluate browning and progress before the original recipe would finish.

When not to convert

Use package or appliance directions when they provide an air fryer method. Be cautious with cakes, wet batters, covered dishes, very fatty foods, large roasts, and foods close to the heating element. Never lower a required safe internal temperature.
