What those specifications mean in your kitchen
The exterior depth includes the handle, but it is not the total working space needed when the drawer is open. Measure the counter and check the manual for ventilation clearances. Six quarts describes basket volume rather than a guaranteed number of portions: food shape and a single-layer layout can determine whether you need a second batch.
